I recently worked on capturing some images of the Nantasket Beach Resort Hotel to showcase their venue for potential bride and grooms looking to get married there. I wanted to be able to show the really great space that they have as well as the proximity to the beach, which is just across the street.
The main ballroom is a very large room that offers perfect views out over the sea. They do a really fantastic job of room setup there as well, from the lighting, which is able to be color controlled, through to the details on the tables. The room is large enough to host most New England weddings and still leave plenty of room for dancing without having to take out any tables. There are also spaces within the room to setup side tables for cakes and other confectionery for the big day. As a New England architectural photographer I am looking to bring out all the qualities of these rooms and to make sure that the lighting and framing really does then justice. Which such a large space like this it can take the time to get that just right but the results at the end are worth the effort.
The other main space that is available at the Nantasket Beach Resort is the room directly below the main ballroom on ground level. This room also offers views out of the sea and beach and is a great location to have the ceremony. The space is again large enough to cater for a wedding with a sizable guest list but is also a room that could be made to feel more intimate by being able to halve its size with a room divider. The lighting in this room can again be controlled very precisely to create the exact atmosphere that you wish to create.
Finishing the shoot took me back upstairs and to the main dining room again, but this time to create more of an evening feel to the space and to show how some subtle up lighting can really bring out the best in this space. It was a pleasure to have photographed this New England hotel and resort just outside the Boston area.
