Well it’s been a while and a few feet of snow since I last posted on the blog, but with the weather turning and the first signs of spring in the air here in New England, I thought I would show off this light and airy kitchen created by Dishington Construction and designed by Jodi of Kitchen Visions.
The flowing style of this kitchen made it a pleasure to photograph and I could see immediately that this was a well thought out space in terms of design and functionality. The center island had features built into it, to make it not only a working space but also one that would allow people to sit around and spend time together while preparing a meal. The more than adequate space around the center island also meant that the use of this area for entertaining would not restrict movement through the rest of the room.
Close attentions to details and materials has pulled this kitchen nicely together. The final choice of furniture in the space has completed the look, to create a modern and long lasting kitchen for the family to utilize for years to come.
The final touch in this room is the dining area that seamlessly blends into the main kitchen space. It was important for me to show this space as both part of the large room and also as a stand alone element. The beautiful wooden table designed specifically for this kitchen forms the centerpiece of this section of the room and is surrounded by a built in window seat on one side that maximizes it use and also provides extra storage with opening sections to the bench.
